Adrian Beltre will not play in Tuesday’s All-Star Game after suffering a hamstring injury during Sunday’s game in Toronto. Michael Young from Texas will take his place.
While initially Beltre was optimistic that he would be able to play despite the injury, it seems like the team has decided to play it safe. Beltre has been an offensive and defensive force for the Red Sox so far this year, putting up his best numbers since his incredible 2004 season with the Dodgers. This was his first selection to an All-Star team.
