Six weeks seems to be the common estimate for Dustin Pedroia’s injury—a rather conservative one according to Will Carrol:
Add in the possibility of advanced therapies like pulsed electromagnetic therapy, cold lasers, or drugs that improve bone healing. It’s possible, if not probable, that we could see Pedroia back sooner than six weeks.
With the possibility that Pedroia could be getting back in the swing of things activity-wise before he’s fully healed, it seems like the former MVP might not be as gone as long as previously thought.
Carrol also mentions that Pedroia might be in line for surgery, though it’s not likely given the nature of his injury, and would be a “simple procedure” even if it were performed.
