Mark Recchi, a veteran right winger who was set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1, has reportedly agreed to a one-year deal with the Bruins, this according to NESN's Jimmy Murphy. The contract will be officially announced on Monday.
CSNNE's Michael Giardi confirmed the report, saying it's a "done deal, according to sources."
Recchi, 42, played in 81 games for the Bruins last season, his second year with the team after spending part of 2008-09 in Tampa Bay, and finished with 18 goals and 42 assists (he was traded to Boston in March of 2009).
In the playoffs, Recchi tallied six goals in Boston's 13 postseason games, including three goals and two assists in the Bruins now infamous series with the Flyers.
