NHL Draft 2010: Boston Bruins Select Tyler Seguin With 2nd Overall Pick

The Boston Bruins picked, as expected, Tyler Seguin with the second overall pick in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.

Seguin is a 6-foot-1, 172 pound forward who has spent the past two seasons playing with the Plymouth Whalers in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).
This past season Seguin led the OHL in scoring and had 48 goals and 58 assists for 106 points in 63 games while also compiling 54 penalty minutes. He shared the scoring title with first overall pick Taylor Hall.

Seguin also won the 2009-2010 Red Tilson Trophy as the most outstanding player in the OHL and the 2009-2010 CHL Top Draft Prospect Award as the top eligible prospect for the NHL entry Draft from the Canadian Hockey League.

NHL Central Scouting ranked Seguin as the number one prospect going into the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

The Bruins have seven picks remaining in this year’s draft: in the second round (32nd and 45th overall), in the fourth round (97th and 105th overall), in the fifth round (135th overall), in the sixth round (165th overall), and in the seventh round (195th overall).
