Red Sox No. 2 In SB Nation's MLB Power Rankings

The Red Sox have won six games in a row, and 14 of their 19 games this month. So it wasn't too surprising to see they have jumped from No. 4 to No. 2 in SB Nation's latest MLB Power Rankings, just behind the Yankees.

Perhaps the hottest team in baseball is coming off back-to-back sweeps of the Dodgers and Diamondbacks, putting them in the thick of the AL East race. Boston is now tied for second with Tampa Bay at 15 over .500. The Sox have been aided by a rebounding Dustin Pedroia, who is batting .500 over his last 10 games with a 1.258 OPS. How many people have noticed that the pitching-and-defense Red Sox have the #2 OBP and the #1 OPS in baseball?

It's worth noting: the AL East has three of the top-five teams, and four of the top 13 squads in baseball, according to six of SB Nation's bloggers.
