The Patriots locked up their punter of the future when they announced the signing of fifth-round draft pick Zoltan Mesko.
Mesko was drafted out of the University of Michigan. His deal is worth a base value of $1.97 million:
That includes a signing bonus slightly over $187,000, standard base salaries of $320,000, $405,00, $490,000 and $575,000 as well as a fourth-year escalator clause.
The Ray Guy Award finalist was a two-time All-Big Ten selection.
The second-team All-American selection averaged a school-record 44.9 yards last season with 17 over 50 yards, 18 fair-caught, three touchbacks and 15 downed inside the 20-yard line.
