Logan Mankins' Agent On Contract Talks: 'It's Dead'
Logan Mankins, the Patriots left guard who has been engaged in a contract battle with the team throughout the offseason, apparently won't be taking the field for New England any time soon. Friday night, his agent, Frank Bauer, spoke to the Boston Herald and said of the contract talks between his client and the team: "There's nothing happening. There's nothing going on. It's dead."

What Now For Logan Mankins And The Patriots?
On Monday, Logan Mankins opted not to sign his restricted free agent tender, and instead asked that the Patriots trade him. Assuming this isn't just talk from the Pro Bowl guard (Mankins still has until 11:59 P.M. EDT Monday night to change his mind and sign), the the Patriots can (and most likely will) lower the tender offer to $1.54 million -- 110% of his 2009 salary
