Lackey Shines Behind Red Sox's Powerful Offense, Beat Phillies, 12-2

Boston, MA (Sports Network) - David Ortiz finished 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles, four RBI and scored twice as Boston trounced Philadelphia, 12-2, in the opener of this three-game interleague series from Fenway Park.

Victor Martinez doubled twice, drove in two and scored twice for the Red Sox, who snapped a two-game losing streak.

Mike Lowell hit a two-run homer while Marco Scutaro added three hits, two runs scored and an RBI for Boston, which scored all its runs in the first three innings.

John Lackey (7-3) won his third decision in four starts by scattering six hits and two runs with three strikeouts over seven innings.

Jayson Werth went 3-for-4 and scored a run for the Phillies, who slid to their fourth loss in five games. Raul Ibanez and Carlos Ruiz contributed RBI groundouts.

Jamie Moyer (6-6) was torched in defeat, his worst of the season, for nine hits and nine runs in one-plus innings.
