Bruins Send Marco Sturm to Los Angeles

The Boston Bruins solved even more of their salary cap worries on Thursday afternoon, as TSN.ca is reporting that the team sent injured forward Marco Sturm to the Los Angeles Kings.

The Bruins' compensation for the 12 year left winger has not been announced, but ESPNBoston.com's James Murphy is reporting that "draft picks" may be coming the Bruins way. Sturm had to waive a no-trade in order to be traded.

Sturm tore his MCL and ACL in the Eastern Conference Finals against the Philadelphia Flyers on May 1st, and has not played yet this season. He had surgery, and had been nearing a comeback to game action.

With forward Marc Savard also near to a return to game action, the Bruins had to take action to clear their salary cap for enough room to activate him when ready. This has been a busy week for the Bruins on the trading block, as they sent defenseman Matt Hunwick to the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for defensive prospect Colby Cohen.
