Brandon Spikes Reportedly Suspended Four Games For Violation Of NFL's Banned Substances Rules

New, 2 comments

Brandon Spikes wasn't seen at the New England Patriots' practice the past two days, and now we may know why. According to the Boston Herald's Ian Rapoport, the rookie linebacker has been suspended four games for a violation of the NFL's banned substances rules. Rapoport makes a point to say it is not for "ingesting a steroid."

Nothing has been made official by the league as of now, but Rapoport says Spikes will not appeal and instead just hope to be back for the playoffs.

Spikes was drafted by the Patriots with the 30th overall pick in the second round of the 2010 NFL Draft, out of Florida. He's played every game this season, and is fourth on the team with 61 tackles.
