Celtics Edge Nets On Marquis Daniels' Late Three-Pointer, 96-92

Newark, NJ (Sports Network) - Marquis Daniels hit the go-ahead three-pointer with 35.4 seconds remaining, as Boston beat New Jersey, 96-92, in preseason play from the Prudential Center.

Glen Davis scored 20 points and Nate Robinson added eight of his 17 in the final quarter for the Celtics. Paul Pierce tallied 15 points and Delonte West 12 for Boston, which went 8-of-15 from three-point range.

Brook Lopez scored a game-high 23 points for the Nets, while Terrence Williams totaled 17 points and Joe Smith 10 in defeat.

The three-ball from Daniels moved Boston to a 93-90 edge, but after New jersey's Damion James missed a three-point try, Kris Humphries made two foul shots for the Nets. Robinson made three foul shots in the closing 15.7 seconds.

The Prudential Center is the new home for the Nets. The team will be playing in Newark for the next two years before moving to a new arena in Brooklyn by the start of the 2012 basketball season.
