College Football Rankings, Week 7: Florida State Jumps To No. 16 In AP Poll

Another weekend of ACC football, and another poor showing from Boston College, the Eagles will be desperate for a win in Week 7. Unfortunately, B.C. is headed on the road to take on Florida State. The same Seminoles team that is 5-1 (3-0 in the ACC) and just spent the weekend dominating Miami at home, 45-17 -- a Miami team that was ranked No. 13. Note the past tense.

The AP Poll for Week 7 was released on Sunday, and Florida State jumped up to No. 16 on the strength of their win, while the Hurricanes dropped out of the Top-25 completely.

FSU finds itself at No. 17 in the USA Today Coaches' Poll.

If there were such a position, the Hurricanes would be No. 27 in the country, based on their 63 points received from voters in the AP Poll. Additionally, N.C. State earned 31 points, and Virginia Tech 17.

The "Others Receiving Votes" section of the USA Today poll is also littered with ACC teams: Miami leads the way for the also-rans with 66 points; N.C. State has 41; Virginia Tech received 24; Maryland has 2.
