Tyler Seguin Scores First Ever NHL Goal, Bruins Rebound Against Coyotes, 3-0

Prague, Czech Republic (Sports Network) - Tim Thomas made 29 saves for his 18th career shutout, leading theBoston Bruins to a 3-0 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes in the back end of a two-game set at the O2 Arena in Prague.

Milan LucicNathan Horton and Tyler Seguin scored for the Bruins, who bounced back from a 5-2 drubbing in Saturday's opener. Thomas added an assist, while David Krejci posted a pair of helpers in the victory.

Ilya Bryzgalov turned aside 34 shots in defeat.

"Today it looked like the team didn't have a jump as it did last night," Coyotes coach Dave Tippett said. "They were a very desperate hockey team."

The Bruins dominated in a scoreless first period, outshooting the Coyotes 15-8, and continued to carry the play through the first 10 minutes of the second period.

Bryzgalov, who stopped 40 shots in Saturday's win, was up to the task until a Phoenix turnover led to Boston's first goal at the 12:11 mark of the second.

Lucic picked up the puck at center ice and wound up for a shot as he skated over the Phoenix blue line. Bryzgalov was partially screened on the play and the puck squeezed between his right arm and body to give Lucic his first goal of the season.

Horton netted his third in the two-game set with just 32.2 seconds left in the stanza after the Bruins won a battle for the puck behind the net. Horton was left alone at the left side of the crease, found the puck and rifled a shot past Bryzgalov on the short side.

Phoenix tried to turn up the offensive pressure in the third period and it eventually led to a breakaway for Seguin with just under 11 minutes left. Thomas made a save and Michael Ryder found Seguin behind the Phoenix defense at center ice. Seguin made a nice move to the backhand and put the puck behind Bryzgalov for his first NHL goal.

Thomas, meanwhile, turned aside 13 shots in the third period and got some help in the final minute when Lee Stempniak's shot from the right circle caromed off the left post.

Horton also picked up an assist on Lucic's goal...Krejci finished with three assists in the two games...Boston was 0-for-4 on the power play and killed off Phoenix's lone chance with the extra skater...The Bruins return to North America and will visit New Jersey on Saturday before a trip to Washington on October 19.
