UConn heads to Syracuse for a Friday night primetime game on ESPN.
After two tough Big East losses, the Connecticut Huskies hit the road for a Friday-night primetime game against rival Syracuse.
UConn is desperately searching for its first Big East win after a gut-wrenching overtime loss to Temple last week at Rentschler Field. The offense continues to sputter, and its average of 19 points per game is near the bottom of the FBS.
Quarterback Scott McCummings scored two rushing touchdowns in last year's win over the Orange, and they'll try to duplicate that offensive success on the ground again this week.
This will be Syracuse's second home Friday-night matchup of the season. In its first primetime game, the team knocked off Pittsburgh in a defensive struggle that featured some of the hardest hitting in the Big East this season. Syracuse is led by quarterback Ryan Nassib, who mans a passing game among the best in the country at 318 yards per game. The Connecticut defense has been the backbone of the team through the first half of the season, and they'll need to limit Nassib in what will be a rowdy atmosphere at the Carrier Dome.
Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET on Friday night, and ESPN will carry the nationally televised game. Syracuse is favored by 4.5 points.
