Philadelphia Eagles at New York Giants - 1 p.m. on FOX: The Giants need a victory and help -- a Dallas loss AND Chicago Bears loss AND Minnesota Viking loss -- to make the playoffs.

Houston Texans at Indianapolis Colts - 1 p.m. on CBS

Dallas Cowboys at Washington Redskins - 8:20 p.m. on NBC: The winner earns the NFC East division crown and a first-round home game in the playoffs.

Boston Celtics at Golden State Warriors, 10:30 p.m. ET (TV/Radio: CSNNE, NBATV, WEEI): The Celtics are hoping to bounce back after being demolished by the Los Angeles Clippers on national television Thursday night, but they'll have to do it on the road against the Golden State Warriors, the team with the fourth-best record in the Western Conference and one of the best home crowds in the league. The Warriors are 20-10 and will rely on Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson to try to make up for what Kevin Garnett will try to do to neutralize David Lee, who's having an All-Star-caliber season.

College Basketball

Holy Cross at Boston College, 2 p.m. (Radio: ESPN850): The Boston College basketball team hosts in-state rival Holy Cross this afternoon in what should be a pretty competitive match. The Eagles have been as mediocre as can be this year, and though they've won their last three games, two of them were against St. Francis (N.Y.) and New Hampshire, and they were by a combined 10 points. Add in losses to Bryant, Harvard and College of Charleston, and Holy Cross won't have many better opportunities to knock off an ACC school.

Maine at Quinnipiac, 3 p.m. (TV: NESN): I don't have a whole lot to say about this game. Maine is 4-8, and lost to aforementioned Holy Cross earlier this year, as well as by 29 points to Army. Quinnipiac is 4-6. Since they're at home, they will probably win. Science.

College Hockey

Boston University at Denver, 9 p.m. (Radio: WWZN 1510): No. 6 Boston University is hot right now, but No. 14 Denver is always a tough opponent. This is a game with major NCAA Tournament seeding ramifications.

Boston Sports TV Schedule, Dec. 27: Celtics attempt to end Clippers' streak, plus bowl games

A busy night on television in Boston culminates with the Celtics in a west coast showdown as they attempt to snap the longest winning streak in the NBA right now.

National Basketball Association:

Los Angeles Clippers vs. Boston Celtics - 10:30 p.m. EST (TV/Radio: TNT/ 93.7 WEEI FM): The Celtics get a chance on a national stage to defeat the hottest team in the NBA right now. The Clippers have won 14-straight games thanks to the play of guard Chris Paul and forward Blake Griffin. But their bench is also coming up big, scoring 64 points in Tuesday's win against the Denver Nuggets. The Celtics have won three of their last four games against the Clippers and began their current road trip with a 93-76 victory over the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday.

Dallas Mavericks vs. Oklahoma City Thunder - 8 p.m. EST (TV: TNT): The preceding game has the Thunder trying to snap a two-game losing streak against the struggling Dallas Mavericks. The Mavericks have lost six of their last seven games including three in a row. The Thunder fell in their NBA Finals rematch with the Miami Heat on Tuesday, 103-97 but have won six-straight games against the Mavericks, including last year's playoff sweep.

College Football:

Military Bowl: San Jose St. Spartans vs. Bowling Green Falcons - 3 p.m. ESPN

Belk Bowl: Duke Blue Devils vs. Cincinnati Bearcats - 6:30 p.m. ESPN

New York Knicks at Phoenix Suns - 9 p.m. (TV: NBA): The Knicks have been one of the best teams in the NBA all season, but they'll be tested on the road Wednesday night against the Suns. New York is 12-2 at home this year but just 8-6 on the road. On the other hand, the Suns are 2-11 on the road and 9-6 on their home floor. Carmelo Anthony, who's averaging 28.5 points per game, leads the Knicks (20-8) into Phoenix against the Suns (11-17), who have lost two games in a row.

College football

Boston Sports on TV, Dec 23: Patriots face Jaguars on the road

National Football League

New England Patriots vs. Jacksonville Jaguars - 1 p.m. (TV/Radio - CBS/WZAN )

The Patriots hope to keep their slim chances of a playoff bye alive this week when they travel to Jacksonville to take on the Jaguars. New England needs to win out and hope for a Denver Broncos loss or two Houston Texans losses to earn a first-round bye.

Either way, the Patriots want to avoid a letdown against a struggling Jacksonville team. The Jaguars are 2-14 on the season, and New England is 6-0 this season against teams with losing records.

San Francisco 49ers vs. Seattle Seahawks - 8:20 p.m. (TV - NBC)

Fresh off their victory over the Patriots, the San Francisco 49ers look to wrap up the NFC West Sunday night with a victory over the Seattle Seahawks. That victory won't come easy, as Seattle has yet to lose at home this season and drubbed the Buffalo Bills 50-17 last week.

Boston Sports TV Schedule, Dec. 22: Boston College's ACC opponents continue non-conference play

Saturday is a light day for Boston sports on TV but you can still kick back and watch plenty of the Boston College Eagles ACC opponents take on teams from across the country and even half way across the Pacific.

The North Carolina Tar Heels will take on McNeese St. at the Smith Center on ESPNU at noon. The Florida St. Seminoles will take on the Charlotte 49ers on the CBS Sports Network at 2 p.m. while the Virginia Cavaliers face off against Old Dominion at 5:30 p.m. on NBC Sports Network. The Miami Hurricanes tip off for a nightcap against Hawai'i at 12:30 a.m. on ESPNU.

You can also get your college football fix in with two bowl games set to kick off on Saturday. The East Carolina Pirates face the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns in the New Orleans Bowl at noon on ESPN. The Boise St. Broncos face the Washington Huskies in Sin City at the Las Vegas Bowl; scheduled kick off for that game is at 3:30 p.m. on ESPN.

Boston Sports On TV, Dec. 16: Patriots play late game vs. 49ers

Outside of the regular schedule of NFL football on a Sunday, it's a light day for sports on TV today. New England Patriots fans will have to wait until late in the day to see a big match-up with the San Francisco 49ers from Gillette Stadium. Before that though, they can wet their whistle with a little college basketball.

The Boston College Eagles will be hosting the New Hampshire Wildcats at home at 1 p.m. today. The Eagles have about two and a half weeks before ACC play begins. They'll open the the conference season at home against the North Carolina St. Wolfpack on Jan. 5.

The Patriots will face off against the 49ers in NBC's prime time game. Both teams have plenty to play for as a loss for the 49ers could make their next math-up with the Seattle Seahawks one that decides the NFC West division lead. The Patriots meanwhile are just a game back of the top spot in the AFC after Sunday's win over the Houston Texans.

Boston Celtics vs. San Antonio Spurs - Rajon Rondo and the Boston Celtics will play the second game in their Texas back-to-back, heading to San Antonio to take on Tim Duncan and the Spurs, who are 18-6 this season. The Celtics played against the Houston Rockets on Friday.

College Basketball

Florida vs. Arizona - With no notable college basketball games in the region, Boston sports fans can turn their attention to what should be the most competitive game of the day in Florida and Arizona. No. 5 Florida and No. 8 Arizona each have their toughest test of the season thus far. Both teams are undefeated and also lead their respective conferences.
