The New England Revolution are second-to-last in the Eastern Conference after a loss to Houston that helped move the Dynamo into the playoff picture. Kansas City and San Jose still sit atop the two conferences.
The New England Revolution's 2012 struggles continued on Saturday as the Revs lost, 2-0, on the road to the Houston Dynamo. For Houston it was a crucial victory as it pushed them into the fifth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. The loss extended New England's winless streak to three games as they sit ninth in the East.
Sporting Kansas City and the San Jose Earthquakes are still atop the Eastern and Western Conferences, respectively. San Jose leads Kansas City by three points in the race for the MLS Supporters' Shield.
In the season's final month, Kansas City is the only team in the East to clinch a playoff spot, while four teams out West have locked up playoff berths but are still fighting for positioning.
