Patriots vs. Bills halftime score: Buffalo leads 14-7

Stay connected for news and updates

The Buffalo Bills lead the New England Patriots by a score of 14-7 at halftime at Ralph Wilson Stadium.

The second quarter was a frustrating one for the Patriots, who were able to force two Ryan Fitzpatrick interceptions, but did not get any points as a result. A Rob Gronkowski fumble set the Bills up for their first touchdown, a Fitzpatrick pass to Scott Chandler from 24 yards out that tied the game, 7-7.

The Patriots appeared to be breaking the tie late in the second quarter, but a missed 42-yard field goal by Stephen Gostkowski set the Bills up for a short field, as they took the lead on another Fitzpatrick-to-Chandler connection from 20 yards out that gave the Bills the lead with 3:35 left in the half.

The Patriots pass defense has been rough this afternoon. Fitzpatrick has completed 13-of-19 passes for 178 yards and two touchdowns. Tom Brady has tried to match his pace, completing 11-of-18 passes for 141 yards.

The Patriots will also need to do a better job on third down when they have the ball, as they have converted just 1-of-6 so far.
