Patriots injuries: Wes Welker, Logan Mankins miss Wednesday practice

David Butler II-US PRESSWIRE

New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker and guard Logan Mankins did not participate in Wednesday's practice.

The New England Patriots were without two offensive starters during Wednesday's practice. Both wide receiver Wes Welker and left guard Logan Mankins missed practice due to ankle injuries they suffered in the Pats 37-31 win over the Buffalo Bills.

Welker has been dealing with an ankle injury for some time, but has not missed any game time for the injury and had not sat out a practice since the season started until Wednesday. Mankins left the game against the Bills in the third quarter and did not return. An injured ankle is the latest ailment for Mankins, who also is suffering from hip and calf injuries.

Defensive end Trevor Scott (hamstring) and linebacker Tracy White (foot) both returned to practice on Wednesday after missing multiple games. Scott had missed the last two contests while White had been out for four straight games.

Newly acquired cornerback Aqib Talib made his practice debut for the Patriots Wednesday.
