The New England Revolution haven't had a whole lot of luck historically at BMO Field, and it looks as though that luck shows few signs of changing. The hosts wasted no time drawing first blood, getting on board in just the fourth minute through designated player Danny Koevermans.
Left-back Ashtone Morgan blazed his way down the left flank, shadowed by Kevin Alston, and managed a good cross into the six-yard box. A.J. Soares was covering Koevermans, but appeared to have a miscommunication with Matt Reis. The 'keeper came halfway out to claim the ball but then pulled back, while Soares barely leaped for the ball, allowing the dutch striker to tower over Soares and thump his header into the bottom corner.
Toronto FC had kept up significant pressure at the outset of the match, taking the time to truly assert their position as the home team. This is not the start the Revolution would have been hoping for, and they will have a mountain to climb to pull themselves back into the match.
