Red Bulls Vs. Revolution: New York Defeats New England In 1-0 Decision

The New England Revolution went down early to the New York Red Bulls on the road and ultimately fell, 1-0, on Saturday afternoon. Thierry Henry scored in the seventh minute for the Red Bulls, but then left the game in the 23rd minute due to a hamstring strain.

It was a sloppy game for the Revolution for most of the match and playing the majority of the game against a Red Bulls team without Henry made the loss that much worse. As Abram Chamberlain writes over at our Revolution blog, The Bent Musket:

What makes the situation worse is that the Red Bulls were short handed due to injury to begin with, and Henry's injury made the game seem that much more winnable for New England. In addition, this is the third 1-0 loss the Revolution have had on the season bringing into question not their attacking - which they did do throughout the game - but their ability to actually finish those attacks with goals.

The Revolution is now 2-5-0 this season, ahead of only the winless (0-7) Toronto FC in the Eastern Conference. New York is 4-3-1 and in third place in the East.

New England is back on the pitch with a home game at Gillette Stadium against the Colorado Rapids on Wednesday, May 2.
