Santi Cazorla scored two goals as defending World Cup champion Spain routed the United States, 4-0, in an international friendly on Saturday afternoon at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, MA.

Santi Cazorla scored two goals as defending World Cup champion Spain routed the United State, 4-0, in an international friendly on Saturday afternoon at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, MA.

Spain controlled the temp right from the start, and Cazorla netted the game's first goal in the 28th minute, tuckign the ball in the upper left corner of the net over U.S. goaltender Tim Howard.

Four minutes later, Alvaro Negredo found the back of the net, putting Spain up 2-0. Cazorla scored his second goal in the 41st minute and Fernando Torres netted the final goal in the 73rd minute.

U.S. coach Bob Bradley kept several starters on the bench for the first half, including star Clint Dempsey.

A grand total of 64,121 fans were in attendance at Gillete Stadium, marking the largest crowd in history to watch a soccer game in New England.

The United States begins play in the CONCACAF Gold Cup against Canada on Tuesday.
