We're just week into the 2012 NFL season, and Tom Brady and the New England Patriots are already moving their way up the charts. New England was ranked second in SB Nation's latest NFL power rankings.
Sunday's impressive 34-13 victory over the Tennessee Titans helped the New England Patriots move up one spot in SB Nation's latest NFL Power Rankings, released Tuesday by NFL editor Joel Thorman. The Week 1 rankings featured the Pats' (1-0) just below the No. 1-ranked Baltimore Ravens, who were very impressive in a 44-13 win over the Cincinnati Bengals.
Here's what Thorman had to say about the Patriots heading into Week 2:
2. New England Patriots (LW: 3, 1-0): 34-13 victory in Week 1 and I barely blink, like wins like that are supposed to happen for New England. Stay healthy and 12-plus wins is attainable once again.
Rounding out the rankings' top five were the San Francisco 49ers, Houston Texans and Green Bay Packers, who were No. 1 in the preseason rankings.
Meanwhile, the Patriots' Week 2 opponent, the Arizona Cardinals, were slotted at No. 27.
27. Arizona Cardinals (LW: 31, 1-0): Yes, I have Arizona behind Seattle even though the Cardinals beat the Seahawks. I still think Seattle is the better team and would win that game more often than not.
Thorman's complete rankings can be read here.
