According to a report, the Patriots and Rob Gronkowski have agreed to a contract extension.
A league source tells PFT that the Patriots and Gronkowski have reached agreement on a contract that would replace the final two seasons of his rookie deal. A second-round pick in 2010, Gronkowski is due to earn $540,000 in 2012 and $575,000 in 2013.
Gronkowski's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, is currently denying the report.
In 2011, Gronkowski had one of the most impressive tight end seasons in NFL history. He caught 90 balls for 1,327 yards and a record-breaking 17 touchdowns. He ranked second amongst tight ends, to teammate, Aaron Hernandez, in broken tackles, with 13.
