The New England Patriots have re-signed safety James Ihedigbo, according to a report (via Adam Caplan's Twitter).
The veteran was signed by the Patriots in 2011 as a free agent and made 69 tackles (46 solo) and defended one pass in 16 games (12 starts). All of those totals from last season were career-highs for Ihedigbo. For his career, he has 118 tackles five sacks and one forced fumble. In last season's playoffs, Ihedigbo started all three games and made 20 tackles (9 solo) and one sack.
The former UMass Minuteman was undrafted in 2007 and broke into the league on the Jets' roster, first playing in 2008 on special teams. He didn't become a regular starter in the secondary until last season with the Patriots.
