Bill Belichick took a page out of Doc Rivers' handbook on Thursday, cancelling the final day of the New England Patriots' mini-camp.
The players still had their regularly-scheduled meetings, but they did not have to participate in any on-field drills.

"We were kind of shocked, everybody was ready to practice," cornerback Ras-I Dowling said. "Guys were in the training room getting taped, and then we got that news -- 'You can go home a day early.'"
Belichick also mandated that none of the players could take home their playbooks. He said it was because the coaching staff wants to make some changes before training camp arrives.
"We'll make some revisions to it based on some things that have happened over the weeks," Belichick said. "We'll make some modifications to it, the way the playbook is set up, it kind of changes every camp because of the league installation schedule."
