2012 NFL Draft: Harrison Smith Likes Patriots' Way

Stay connected for news and updates

The Patriots are in need of secondary help. Former Notre Dame safety Harrison Smith is a player many project to be picked around the end of the first round, where the Patriots pick at both 27 and 31.

Seems like a good enough match, right?

Well, Smith seems to agree with that notion, as he expressed in a recent interview with Comcast Sports Net New England's Tom E. Curran, which you can watch the entirety of here.

Smith has a connection to New England, having played for longtime Patriots offensive coordinator Charlie Weis during his tenure as the Notre Dame head coach. And while Weis wasn't responsible for the defense in New England, he brought along aspects of the operation that Bill Belichick and the Patriots employ when he took over in South Bend.
