The New England Patriots have released fullback Lousaka Polite on Monday, according to a report.

The Patriots were briefly up to three fullbacks when Tony Fiammetta was signed earlier in the day on Monday.

Polite (6-0, 245), was undrafted out of Pittsburgh in 2004. He had played for the Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Bears and Miami Dolphins before being picked up by New England last season. Polite was primarily used as a blocking fullback. He appeared in just one regular season game for the Pats in 2011, but did not record any stats. Polite did appear in all three postseason games for New England last season. In the Patriots' 45-10 Divisional Round win over the Broncos, Polite had one carry for three yards.
