Super Bowl 2012: Giants Quarterback Eli Manning Named Super Bowl MVP

After leading the Giants to their second Super Bowl victory in the last five years with a 21-17 win over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI, New York quarterback Eli Manning has been named the Super Bowl MVP for the second time in his career.

#Giants QB Eli Manning is MVP. Went 30 of 40 for 296 yds, 1 TD and a clutch performance -- again -- in NFL's biggest game. #SB46 1 minute ago via CoTweet · Reply · Retweet · Favorite · powered by @socialditto

Manning completed 30 of his 40 passes for 296 yards and a touchdown, which he threw to Victor Cruz in the first quarter, for a quarterback rating of 103.8. This was compared to Tom Brady's 91.1 quarterback rating from completing 27 of 41 passes for 276 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.

This is the second time Manning was named MVP in the big game after winning the award in Super Bowl XLII for leading the Giants over the Patriots by a score of 17-14.

Now that he has won one more Super Bowl and has been named the Super Bowl MVP one more time than his big brother Peyton Manning, it appears as if Eli is finally casting his own shadow and not living inside his older brother's.
