In more conversation with WEEI's "Dennis And Callahan", New England Patriots team president Jonathan Kraft shared some thoughts about his mother, Myra Kraft's passing just prior to the start of the 2011 NFL season.
As we all know, the 2011 season for the Kraft family has been a very emotional ride. Kraft characterizes the feeling of loss as something that affects everyone.
"Most of the people who are Patriots fans have probably lost in the last 12, 24 months somebody they care about," he said. "And they'll think about them, too, when that game's going on -- if you went [to Patriots games] with your dad and your dad passed away, your grandfather. Remember when the Red Sox won that first [World Series]. You heard people saying they went to gravesides to tell their loved ones about it. They feel like they're with them. It's something you share. That's what's so great about sports. (via WEEI)
Before the season began, the Patriots had a patch that read "MHK" sewn onto their uniforms and dedicated their 2011 season to Myra Hiatt Kraft. If the Patriots are able to win on Sunday against the New York Giants, her son knows that she was there in spirit, smiling down on them.
"If we're fortunate enough to win on Sunday, I know my mother will have been with us spiritually, in a spiritual way. And I just wish thatch was there physically. But a lot of people have to deal with that." (via WEEI)
