Patriots Offseason 2012: Rich Ohrenberger, Mike Wright Released By New England

The New England Patriots announced Wednesday that they have released offensive lineman Rich Ohrnberger and defensive tackle Mike Wright (via WEEI).

Wright (6-4, 295) was signed by the Patriots after he was undrafted out of Cincinnati in 2005. Wright played in just one game last season before being sidelined with a concussion and being placed on injured reserve. During his seven seasons with New England, Wright made 133 tackles (99 solo), 15 sacks and forced four fumbles in 81 games (22 starts). The release of Wright could mean the end of his career. The defensive lineman has had both of his last two seasons ended by concussions.

Ohrnberger (6-2, 300) was selected by the Patriots out of Penn State in the fourth round of the 2009 NFL Draft. He played in just five games (no starts) for New England in three seasons.
