Injury Update: Patriots' Gronkowski Looking At 4-6 Week Recovery

Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski recently underwent successful ankle surgery after suffering a high ankle sprain during the AFC Championship Game on January 22nd.

According to a report on WEEI.com, it appears the recovery period for Gronkowski's procedure will be between four and six weeks.

Gronkowski's ankle was a popular topic of conversation leading up to Super Bowl XLVI, and the record-breaking tight end has continued to make headlines since the Patriots 21-17 defeat at the hands of the New York Giants.

Just hours after the conclusion of the Super Bowl in Indianapolis, Gronkowski was filmed dancing at an official Patriots after-party. His actions have sparked conversation in both local and national media circles, and some have been critical of his decision to celebrate so soon after a devastating defeat.

Gronkowski enjoyed arguably the greatest season by a tight end in league history in 2011, totaling 90 catches for 1327 yards and 17 touchdowns.
