Super Bowl 2012, Media Day: Bill O'Brien Keeping Focus On Patriots, Not Penn State

Wednesday is one of the biggest days of the year for college football coaches. Hundreds of high school seniors will be faxing their letters of intent to play football at the schools of their choosing. New Penn State head coach, and still current New England Patriots offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien won't be in Happy Valley, however, as he prepares to coach in the 2012 Super Bowl against the New York Giants.

"This is a week about the Patriots, and really not about Penn State right now," O'Brien said. "I'm trying to do the best I can to put together, with the staff, a great game plan for Sunday."

He added, "I'll be at Penn State on Monday or Tuesday after the [Super Bowl], and we'll go from there. We've got a lot of great people at place in Penn State that are doing a great job up there of seeing that through."

That's good news for the Pats, though Nittany Lion fans may be a little anxious to have their head man start working full time at his new gig. In case you wondering, he also gave a requisite non update on tight end Rob Gronkowski.

"We had a good practice yesterday," O'Brien said. "We're moving forward with the thought that we'll be ready for anything. We have a lot of good, instinctive players that will be ready for any role we ask them to do, right up to game-time, during the game. They're adjustable guys, flexible guys, so we feel really good about where we're at right now."
