Super Bowl 2012, Patriots Vs. Giants: Matt Light (Illness) Misses Media Day

New England Patriots offensive lineman Matt Light was kept from Tuesday's Super Bowl media day due to a stomach bug that has gone around the Patriots organization, according to an NFL.com report.

A team official told NFL.com's Steve Wyche that Light is the only player believed to be affected by illness, but other team employees have dealt with a similar sickness in recent days.

Light, one of seven Patriots remaining from the team that lost to the Giants in Super Bowl XLII, started 15 games this season for the Patriots and is an important part of their offensive game plan. The 33-year old has scuffled with the Giants multiple times in the past, leading to Osi Umenyiora's tongue-in-cheek response to hearing about Light's sickness.

"Matt Light, please get well soon," Umenyiora said, smiling. "I hope to see you on Sunday. You are one of my greatest friends."
