Rob Gronkowski Injury Update: Patriots TE Reportedly Has Ligament Damage

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski injured his ankle during the AFC Championship Game against the Baltimore Ravens. While the severity of the injury was not known after the game, he did leave the stadium in a walking boot.

Gronkowski was adamant that he would still play in the Super Bowl against the New York Giants on Feb. 5. As for his coach Bill Belichick, he reiterated that it is not easy to tell how serious an injury is based on how the player reacts to it during a game.

However, today details about the ankle injury emerged in a report: Gronkowski has "some ligament damage" in the ankle (via Ian R. Rapoport's Twitter). He obviously won't be 100 percent when he hits the field against the Giants, but there's not anyone who thinks he won't play in the game.
