Stevan Ridley, a running back from LSU, has been been drafted with the ninth pick in the third round (No. 73 overall) in the 2011 NFL Draft on Friday night at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.
Ridley racked up 1,147 rushing yards and 15 rushing touchdowns on 249 carries for the LSU Tigers in 2010. In his three-year career at LSU, Ridley finished with 1,419 rushing yards and 19 touchdowns on 306 attempts.
New England has now drafted two running backs in the 2011 NFL Draft, with the other being Cal's Shane Vereen, who was selected by the Patriots at No. 56 overall back in the second round.
