The Patriots face the Colts this weekend as 21-point favorites – the largest spread since 2007.
The 8-3 New England Patriots will host the 0-11 Indianapolis Colts this weekend, in what is usually expected to be a great game between two dominant franchises and decade-long rivals. However; with Peyton Manning injured, the Colts have yet to win a game this season, and according to OddsShark the Colts will enter the contest as three-touchdown underdogs.
The spread opened at -21, which is by far the largest spread this season. The last time an NFL spread was as large as 21 was in 2007 when the Patriots were in the midst of their 18-1 season. According to Pregame.com this marks only the tenth time in 33 years an NFL team is favored by 20 or more points.
According to Vegas Insider 72 percent of the wagers are being placed on the Patriots. The Over/Under is set at 47.5, which has been receiving relatively equal action. Some sites have a moneyline on the game and the Colts are as high as +1400, meaning you would win $1,400 on a $100 bet, if the Colts won.
