Patriots Vs. Broncos Score Update: Patriots Respond, Cut Broncos Lead To 16-14

Stay connected for news and updates

After falling flat on their second offensive series, Tom Brady and the New England offense have found their footing again in the second quarter, driving for their second touchdown of the game and cutting Denver's lead to just two points in the second quarter.

Unlike the speedy drives that marked the first quarter, the Patriots took their time on this one, taking 20 minutes of real time to execute 12 plays and add seven points. While the running game had thus far been stifled by Denver's defense, the Patriots seem to have found an answer for now in Danny Woodhead. While he took a beating doing it, Woodhead contributed 30 yards on just four plays, combining with a tricky Aaron Hernandez run to get the Patriots into Denver territory.

It looked like the Patriots had found a touchdown a little early when Tom Brady fired a laser over Wes Welker's shoulder, who made a diving grab and set up the Patriots within the one yard line when a replay showed he had been touched as he slid into the end zone. A couple plays later, and Tom Brady found Aaron Hernandez in the back of the end zone for seven points.
