The Patriots are seven-point favorites this week, despite playing a fellow division leader, on the road, in the 8-5 Denver Broncos.
The 10-3 New England Patriots travel to Mile High this weekend to face the 8-5 Broncos in what will be a battle of division leaders. The Broncos have won six consecutive games and seven of their last eight since inserting Tim Tebow into the starting lineup. The Patriots are currently on a five-game winning streak of their own, and can clinch the AFC East with a win.
According to Odds Shark the spread opened at NE -4.5. Since then the line has moved to Patriots -7 in nearly every sports betting platform. A 2.5 point swing in gambling terms is huge. The reason behind the line movement is, the public is wagering heavily on the Patriots. According to Vegas Insider 90 percent of the wagers are being placed on Patriots against the spread.
The Over/Under is set at 46 points, and 78 percent of the money is coming in on the over. 77 percent of the money line bets are being placed on the Broncos, whose odds are between +250 and +280, meaning a $100 bet would win anywhere from $250 to $280.
