The Patriots are 15 point favorites against Tyler Palko and the Kansas City Cheifs. Palko will be making his first career NFL start, subbing for an injured Matt Cassel.
According to Odds Shark the 6-3 New England Patriots opened as a 14.5 favorite against the 4-5 Kansas City Chiefs, who they will host this Monday night. The Patriots are coming off a dominating performance against their rival New York Jets where Tom Brady threw for 329 yards and three touchdowns in a 37-16 victory. The Chiefs are fresh off a seven-point home loss at the hands of Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos. To make matters worse, Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel may be out for the season with a hand injury, leaving undrafted free agent Tyler Palko to make his first career start.
On most offshore betting sites the spread has inflated to 15 or 16 points. In Vegas the line is up to Patriots -15. According to Vegas Insider 95% of the bets coming in on the Patriots-Cheifs match-up are being placed on the Patriots against the spread.
The Over/Under is 46.5 and both sides are getting relatively equal action thus far – 58 percent over, 42 percent under.
