The New England Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers square off in a week eight battle of first place teams. Tom Brady, Bill Belichick and the Pats have had the Steelers' number over the years, and they're coming off a bye week, which has been a huge advantage for the Pats during the Belichick era. They're 9-1 in games following their bye since 2001.
Oct 30, 2011 - New England Patriots vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
The 5-1 New England Patriots travel to Heinz Field Sunday to face the 5-2 Pittsburgh Steelers. The Patriots are coming off a bye week, and in games following a bye since 2001 the Brady-Belichick Patriots own an impressive 9-1 record. Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is 6-1 all-time against the Steelers and 3-1 in games played at Heinz Field.
Last week the Steelers defeated the Arizona Cardinals 32-20 in Arizona. Ben Roethlisberger completed 67 percent of his passes, threw for 367 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions. Receivers Mike Wallace and Antonio Brown both had over 100 yards receiving. Look for Roethlisberger and company to come out throwing for the second consecutive week against a Patriots defense who allows an average of 322 yards passing per game – worst in the NFL.
