Wes Welker Press Conference, Featured, Well ... Feet

Wes Welker is listed at five feet, nine inches on the Patriots official website. In the 2010 season, he recorded 86 receptions for 848 yards -- equal to 2544 feet. He played the entire regular season, an impressive feat, considering in the final game of the 2009 season, he tore the MCL and ACL in his left knee (it's attached to his left foot).

OK, that's enough -- you probably get the idea. Or at least have heard about Welker's press conference from Thursday, when he made 10 references to either "foot," "feet" or "toe."

↵

Hmm, wonder what he could possibly mean by all that ...

The Patriots website has the full transcript, but were the references intentional? Says the Herald's Ian Rapoport, "If you don't think he did this absolutely on purpose, you just don't know Welker very well."

For the record, Welker declined to speak to the media on Friday. No reason to stick his foot in his mouth.
