NFL Power Rankings, Week 16: Patriots Maintain No. 1 Spot SB Nation, WEEI Rankings

The New England Patriots are 12-2, have won six straight games and are in solid position to earn the AFC's No. 1 seed for the playoffs. So it's no surprise to see them atop the NFL Power Rankings for Week 16.

NFL Power Rankings, Week 16: Patriots No. 1 In SB Nation Rankings, Falcons No. 2

The two 12-win teams are unsurprisingly atop SB Nation's NFL Power Rankings for Week 16. The New England Patriots, who lead the AFC are in great position to capture the conference's top seed in the playoffs, are No. 1 followed by the Atlanta Falcons, the NFC's front-runner.

1. New England Patriots (12-2): They made things interesting against the Packers but this is clearly the best team in the NFL. LW: 1

2. Atlanta Falcons (12-2): This has to be one the quietest 12-2 seasons we've seen. Don't get me wrong -- the Falcons aren't a "surprise" by any means but what they're doing is almost as impressive as New England. LW: 2

After Sunday's epic comeback, the Philadelphia Eagles are No. 3 (up from No. 6 last week), followed by the Baltimore Ravens and the New York Jets.

The Steelers dropped six spots to No. 6 following Sunday's loss to the Jets.
