College hockey teams in the northeast aren't on the ice Friday, but there's plenty of action in the midwest, including Michigan taking on Western Michigan.

With essentially all of the northeast region out of action on Friday night, the college hockey focus shifts to the midwest, which features a full lineup of contests heading into the weekend.

On the CBS Sports Network, the Michigan Wolverines will play host to the Western Michigan Broncos at 7:35 p.m. ET. So far this season, Michigan is 5-8-2 overall, with a 5-4-0 record when playing at home. As for the Broncos, they're off to a 10-3-1 start to their season and are currently riding a five-game winning streak coming into the two-game road series with the Wolverines.

Elsewhere, the Ohio State Buckeyes welcome the Miami (Ohio) RedHawks for a two-game weekend set beginning with Friday night's contest, which begins at 7:05 p.m. ET and can be seen on the Big Ten Network. The RedHawks are 10-3-3 overall to this point, while Ohio State will enter Friday with a mark of 7-5-4.
