The number one overall seed in the 2012 NCAA Hockey Tournament, Boston College, defeated the Air Force Falcons in their first round match-up by a score of 2-0. Chris Kreider scored both of the game's goals – the first coming early in the first period, and the second coming in the waning minutes of the game, sealing the deal.
Boston College out-shot the Falcons 34 to 20, but a great performance from the Falcons goalie, Jason Torf, allowed the Air Force to hang around.
Paul Carey of the Eagles attempted an impressive nine shots on goal, but failed to convert a single one.
With the victory the Eagles advance to face the winner between Minnesota-Duluth and Maine.
