The Boston University Terriers trail the Minnesota Golden Gophers in their first round match-up in the 2012 NCAA Tournament by a score of 1-0, after one period of play. Kyle Rau has scored the game's only goal, coming 5 minutes and 55 seconds into the period. It came on a Gopher power play. Erick Haula and Nate Schmidt both assisted on Rau's goal.
There was a rare stretch early in the first where the teams played four on four for 50 seconds, following consecutive penalties by the teams. Tom Serratore and Alexx Privitera were the guilty parties.
Minnesota has out-shot Boston University 10 to 8 thus far.
