Beanpot 2012, BC Vs. BU: Pat Mullane, Eagles Lead 1-0 After First

Stay connected for news and updates

BOSTON - Pat Mullane took advantage of his man and held the puck just long enough to send a wrister past Boston University goaltender Kieran Millan and the Boston College Eagles lead 1-0 after one period in the championship game on Monday night at TD Garden.

Mullane's goal was shotrhanded and was assisted by Chris Kreider (16) at 8:54 of the opening period. The goal was Mullane's fourth of the season and appeared to give the Eagles a huge momentum boost, as BC finished the period with a 16-9 advantage in shots over BU.

Parker Milner was pristine in net for the Eagles, turning away all nine shots he faced while making several big stops. Millan had a strong period for the Terriers in net, despite allowing one goal, as he racked up 15 saves in the first period.
