For the third straight week, the Boston College men's hockey team is atop the USCHO.com rankings. After a 2-0 weekend, the Eagles retained the No. 1 spot, collecting 48 of the 50 first place votes.
Boston College improved to 6-1 on the season this past weekend and increased its lead on the No. 1 ranking. The Eagles received 10 more first place votes this week, and improved from 981 points in the poll to 998 points. They now have a lead of more than 100 points over No. 2 Minnesota, who finished with 896 points in the latest poll. No. 3 Denver and No. 8 Union were the two other teams to receive a first place vote.
The Eagles weren't the only Boston-area team in the top 20 this week as Boston University moved up one spot to No. 11, while Harvard dropped one spot to No. 14. Northeastern was 15th last week, but fell out of the rankings this week. New Hampshire remained at No. 9 while Massachusetts-Lowell fell three spots to No. 17.
