UConn sophomore linebacker Graham Stewart will miss the 2012 college football season due to a torn pectoral (via Courant).
Stewart was injured during a workout on July 23. He had surgery on July 27 to repair the torn pectoral muscle. Stewart, a transfer from the Florida Gators, was in the process of filing a waiver with the NCAA to play immediately. Stewart will have three years of eligibility remaining when he comes back from the injury.
Stewart played in 12 games for the Gators, including the 2012 Gator Bowl. He made one tackle and blocked a punt and returned it for a touchdown in the Gator Bowl. The Gators won the game over Ohio State, 24-17.
Stewart is a grad of Xavier-Middletown, which he led to a 13-0 season and a Connecticut state championship before joining Florida.
