For the 13th time in program history Sunday, the Connecticut Huskies will be playing in the NCAA Women's Final Four as they will face the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in Denver, CO (6:30 p.m. ET on ESPN). A victory will advance UConn into the National Championship Game, where it will face either the Baylor Bears or Standford Cardinals on Tuesday night.
The contest is a rematch of last year's NCAA Tournament semifinal contest, which featured the Irish upsetting the Huskies 72-63. Notre Dame eventually lost in the title game to Texas A&M.
Since then, the two Big East Conference programs have faced each other three times with the Irish winning the two regular-season battles and UConn avenging its losses in the Big East Tournament championship game.
