The Connecticut Huskies continue to struggle against good teams in the Big East. They trail the 13th ranked Marquette Golden Eagles by 14 at halftime.
A week ago, February 11, the 16-9 Connecticut Huskies had an opportunity to upset the number-two ranked Syracuse Orange in their building. Doing so would've added a very impressive win to their lackluster NCAA Tournament resume. They hung with the Orange for about 35 minutes before the Orange pulled away.
Fortunately, the Huskies were presented another such opportunity on Saturday in hosting the 13th ranked Marquette Golden Eagles. Despite shooting 48 percent in the first half the Huskies find themselves trailing the Golden Eagles by 14 after one half of play. Connecticut has been plagued with their three-point defense, allowing seven Golden Eagles threes and the discrepancy in free throws, where Marquette is 10-12 while UConn is only 3-9.
The second half of the game can be seen on ESPN and ESPN3.
